Gyeran jjim (egg side dish) recipe

Gyeran jjim

My wife brought some galbi back from Korea (that's right, she carried it on the plane!) today so guess what we had for dinner? Any time there is some form of barbecued meat on the table I just have to have gyeran jjim. Gyeran jjim is basically microwaved egg with seasonings that ends up being omelettey in consistency.

Gyeran jjim recipe
Spicy? - Not really
Time to cook? - 5 minutes
Serves? - 2 a a side dish

2 eggs
2 spring onions
2 teaspoons salted shrimp
Chilli powder, to taste


1) In a microwaveable bowl, beat the eggs and add the chopped green onions, salted shrimp and chilli powder (if you fancy a kick).

2) Cook in the microwave for a couple of minutes until the egg is thoroughly cooked (no runny liquid)
